Jodi Balfour, a theatrical and television actor, was born on October 29, 1987, in Cape Town, South Africa, where she also spent her early years. She earned a BA in Theatre & Performance from the University of Cape Town and began her career in show business by hosting the South African series Bling with Dalen Lance. Her family relocated to Canada's west coast, and she started working abroad. Due to her appearances in well-liked television series, the South African actress has become well-known around the world. Gladys Witham was her breakthrough character in the Canadian drama Bomb Girls. Later, she was cast as Joni in Cinemax's Quarry, and in 2019, she started starring as Ellen Waverly in the Apple TV+ drama For All Mankind. She received a Canadian Screen Award in 2015 for her performance in the television movie spinoff Bomb Girls: Facing the Enemy. In the Netflix series The Crown, she and Michael C. Hall were cast as John and Jackie Kennedy.
