Joseph Matthew Alwyn, known by his nickname ‘Joe’, is an actor who was born February 21, 1991, in Royal Tunbridge Wells, United Kingdom. He started acting at a very young age when he found that theatre was what he liked the most. He attended the National Youth Theatre and then studied English literature and drama at the University of Bristol where he graduated in 2012. In 2016 he starred in the award-winning movie “Billy Lynn’s long halftime walk” opposite Garrett Hedlund and Arturo Castro. In 2018 he had a small part in the movie “The Favorite”, which won eight different awards as Best Ensemble. He appeared in famous movies such as “The Sense of an Ending”, Oscar-winning movie “Mary Queen of Scots”, “Boy Erased” and starred in “The Last Letter from Your Lover” in 2021 alongside Shailene Woodley. He also stars in the 2022 drama series “Conversation with Friends”.
