Joe Root is an English cricket player, born on December 30, 1990, in Dore, Sheffield, United Kingdom. He has established himself as a reliable batsman. Joe earned a cricket scholarship at Workshop College when he was 15 years old, and a scholarship at the Yorkshire Cricket academy. He made his Yorkshire second Team debut in July 2007 and his international test cricket debut for England in 2012.
The Sheffield-born helped England's victory over Australia at Edgbaston during the 2013 Champions Trophy. The next year, he was named the 2014 Wisden Cricketer of the Year, and he and James Anderson shared a world record 10th wicket stand of 198.
