Joep Beving is a Dutch composer and pianist who was born on January 9, 1976 in Doetinchem, The Netherlands. His music path was illuminated by his grandmother’s piano which became his when she passed away in 2009.
Joep (pronounced “Yoop”) learned the piano at an early age and abandoned it for a political career. He was forced to pursue a degree in public policy and public administration in spite of his love for music. He later returned to his first love in the later part of 2014.
Turned down by a label he approached, Joep self-released his debut album Solipsism in 2015 under his own record label, Sonderling B.V. Solipsism was initially made for family and friends but it shot Joep into stardom. He travelled the world and has sold out venues in the US and Australia. He later signed for the Deutsche Grammophon label and released his sophomore album Prehension with them.
Joep’s other albums include A Hunger For The New (2016) and Conatus (2018).
