Joey Gallo Bio

Joey Gallo (born November 19, 1993, in Paradise, Nevada) is an American professional baseball outfielder and first baseman for the Minnesota Twins of Major League Baseball (MLB). Gallo attended Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he hit a Nevada high school record 67 career home runs in 446 at-bats. He signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Louisiana State University (LSU) and play college baseball for the LSU Tigers but was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the first round of the 2012 MLB draft and decided to sign with them instead.

Gallo made his MLB debut with the Rangers on June 2, 2015. He has also played for the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers before joining the Minnesota Twins in 2023.

Gallo has been selected to the MLB All-Star Games twice, in 2019 and 2021, and won the Gold Glove Award in 2020 and 2021. He currently holds the record for most home runs ever (198) for a player with a career batting average under 200.
