John Boyega was born on March 17th, 1992 in London, England. His first performances date back to his days in a local theatre group as a child. He attended South Thames College and received his first major movie role in Attack the Block (2011). He began to rapidly pick up more roles including parts in Half of a Yellow Sun (2013) and Imperial Dreams (2014). However, these roles would not compare to the success of landing a leading role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015). He continues to receive roles in films alongside household names such as Emma Watson and Tom Hanks in The Circle (2017), and even won the award of Rising Star (2016) at the BAFTA awards.
