American professional ice hockey defenseman, John Carlson was born on 10th January 1990 in Natick, Massachusetts. He started his career with Atlantic Youth Hockey League’s New Jersey Rockets Youth Hockey Organisation. In his final year with the rockets, he was awarded the AtJHL Defenseman of the Year Award. In the 2008 NHL Draft, following a successful season as a rookie, he was drafted 27th overall by the Washington Capitals. In the 2008 OHL draft, he was drafted in the 2nd round by the London Knights. His incredible skills earned him a position in the OHL Second All-Star Team, OHL first All-Rookie team and the Canadian Hockey League All-Rookie Team. His professional debut with the Washington Capitals was with their AHL affiliate, Hershey Bears. He led the team to victory at the 2009 Calder Cup Championship. His NHL debut came in 2009 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. In 2018, he became the highest-scoring defenseman and won the Stanley Cup.
