Born in 1944 in Los Angeles, John Densmore is the drummer for the band The Doors. He started taking piano lessons when he was eight and fell in love with music. He liked improvising on the songs he had already learnt rather than learning new ones. Throughout his career, John worked with several bands: Psychedelic Rangers, The Butts Band, and Rick and the Ravens. The Doors steadily rose to fame between 1967 and 1971. He is also the author of his autobiography: My Life With Jim Morrison and The Doors. In 1993, The Doors were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Since then, Densmore has authored articles for The Guardian, The Rolling Stones, Huffington Post and Chicago Tribute, to name a few. He has also worked on documentary films like Juvies and Road to Return.
