John Lydon Bio

John Lydon was born on January 31, 1956, in Holloway, London. His birth name is John Joseph Lydon and he is also known as John Rotten. He was the lead singer of the Sex Pistols until the group disbanded in 1978. While with Sex Pistols, he wrote the songs “Holidays in the Sun,” “Anarchy in the U.K.” and “God Save the Queen.” He was also part of the band Public Image Ltd.

Lydon also appears as a featured artist on Time Zone’s World Destruction. He was also part of the documentary Super Duper Alice Cooper. He was also involved in the release of several books including Sex Pistols in 1996, Rotten: No Irish, No Blacks, No Dogs in 2015 and Anger is an Energy which was released in the same year.
