John Robert Leonetti was born July 4, 1956 in California. He is known as a cinematographer and director. His brother, Matthew, is also a cinematographer. Starting young in his family’s business that sold cameras and other equipment, he found a love for movie making. He began his cinematography career in 1991 with Child’s Play. He has a passion for horror and darker themed films that scare viewers and stick with them for years to come. Some of his most popular cinematographic work include, Annabelle (2014), The Mask (1994), Insidious (2010), Mortal Kombat (1995) and The Conjuring (2013). His directing credits include The Butterfly Effect 2 (2006) as well as episodes of Sleepy Hollow (2015) and Sons of Thunder (1999). He is currently directing The Silence, which is yet another horror picture.
