Johnell Young is an American actor and former basketball player who was born on July 8th 1953 in Staten Island, New York, United States. He was born and raised in Staten Island. He also attended Clark Atlanta University where he played on the basketball team before deciding to pursue an acting career.
Johnell rose to fame after he starred in the hit movie Wu-Tang: An American Saga in 2019. Growing up in Staten Island got him in contact with many members of the Wu-Tang Clan which explains his natural familiarity with the legendary rap group. He is also famous for doing some voice work in the NBA 2K20 video game. He voiced the character Bertie Barnett.
As an actor, Johnell is best known for Making Moves (2017), Wu-Tang: An American Saga (2019) and A Holiday Chance (2021).
