Johnny Knoxville is an American actor, film producer, screenwriter, comedian and stunt performer born in Knoxville, Tennessee on March 11, 1971. He is best known as a co-creator and star of the MTV show Jackass and the Jackass film series. Knoxville is responsible for many of the ideas on Jackass. After graduating from high school, he moved to Los Angeles, California to become an actor. He started his acting career appearing in television commercials and as an extra. After not landing any big acting roles, Knoxville starting writing and pitching article ideas to magazines. He pitched his ideas to various networks and signed a deal with MTV for Jackass. In 1992 he made his debut on television in the show The Ben Stiller Show and has since had roles and made appearances in the shows The Andy Dick Show, Saturday Night Live, Unhitched, Viva La Bam, Nitro Circus, The Goode Family, The Dudesons, Drunk History, Maron, WWE Raw and others. He made his debut in film in 1995 in the movie Desert Blues and continued landing roles in the films Coyote Ugly, Big Trouble, Walking Tall, Lords of Dogtown, The Dukes of Hazzard, The Ringer, Nature Calls, Movie 43, Small ApartmentsPolar, Rosy, Half Magic and more.
