Jolene Cherry is an American A&R executive. After starting her media career in publishing and artistic promotion, in the 1980s she became music consultant and supervisor for films like 1986’s “The Wraith” starring Charlie Sheen, and 1992’s “Kufffs.” In the early 1990s, she became a protege of music producer Doug Morris, collaborating with Warner/Chappell and consulting for Atlantic. In 1994 she gained notoriety working for the soundtrack of the film “The Crow,” and three years later she became Senior VP of A&R at Universal Music under Morris’s supervision. She took on many projects as A&R and executive producer in the early 2000s, collaborating with artists like Hootie and the Blowfish and Vanessa Carlton. In 2015, she formed “The Cherry Party,” an independent record label, and signed a distribution deal with Sony’s Red Distribution firm.
