Jonathan Davis is an American singer and musician born in Bakersfield, California on January 18, 1971. He is best known as the lead vocalist and frontman of the nu metal band Korn. Davis had an interest in music from a young age, and most of the music he writes is influenced by his childhood. In 1993 he founded the band Korn with James Shaffer, Reginald Arvizu, Brian Welch, and David Silveria. In 1994 they released their debut studio album self-titled Korn. They have since released 12 more studio albums, 3 live albums, 8 compilation albums, 7 video albums, and 3 EPs. The band has sold over 35 million albums worldwide with seven albums being certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. They have been nominated for eight Grammy Awards and have won two. In 2007 Davis started working on a solo album and formed the group Jonathan Davis and the SFA. The band released two live albums with the group before disbanding in 2014. Davis also DJs EDM music under the stage name JDevil. He started DJing in 1987 and has DJed on and off ever since. JDevil has opened for Korn a number of times and a number of other popular artists and bands.
