Jonathan Schoop is a Dutch professional baseball player born in Willemstad, Curacao on October 16, 1991. He is currently a second baseman for the Minnesota Twins of the Major League Baseball. Before playing in the major league he played in the Little League World Series for Curacao. He played for the Netherlands national baseball team in the 2011 Baseball World Cup, 2012 European Baseball Championship, 2013 World Baseball Classic and the 2017 World Baseball Classic. In 2008 he was signed by the Baltimore Orioles and was part of their minor league team. In 2013 he played in his first major league game for the Baltimore Orioles. He played for the Orioles until 2018 and was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers. That same year he signed a one-year contract with the Minnesota Twins for $7.5 million. Throughout his MLB career he has recorded 114 home runs, 344 runs batted in, and has a batting average of .258.
