Jonny McGovern Bio

Jonny McGovern is a standup comedian, musician, and actor born on 12th July 1976 in Brooklyn, New York, United States. He is widely known for appearing in the LGBT-themed sketch comedy program “The Big Gay Sketch Show”. He is also known for his comedic character, The Gay Pimp, and has recorded three albums as a comedic singer under the name. He rose into the limelight when he released a music video for his song “Soccer Practice”.

With growing popularity, Jonny contributed commentary on numerous television shows, including 40 Dumbest Celebrity Quotes, Totally Gay, and Best Week Ever. He also started appearing on the Alan Cumming-hosted all-gay comedy TV show “Out on the Edge” on Comedy Central. Jonny also hosts his LGBT talk show “Hey Qween”. The show was previously co-hosted by the late Lady Red Couture. Jonny released an EP, titled “Flowers (Songs to Lady Red)” as a tribute to her.
