Jordan Belfort Bio
Jordan Ross Belfort (born on July 9, 1962 in Bronx, New York, USA) is an American author, motivational speaker, and former stockbroker. He is best known for being the inspiration for the 2013 film "The Wolf of Wall Street".
In the 1990s, Jordan Belfort built one of the most dynamic and successful sales organizations in Wall Street history, earning over $50 million a year in personal income. As the owner and founder of brokerage firm Stratton Oakmont, Belfort employed over 1,000 stockbrokers and raised over $1 billion to start up more than 30 million-dollar companies from scratch. Taking over many of them when they ran into trouble, he then turned them around and sold them for massive sums of money.
Belfort has acted as a consultant to more than 50 public companies and has been written about in virtually every major newspaper and magazine in the world, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, The London Times, The Herald Tribune, Le Monde, Corriere della Sera, Forbes, Business Week, Paris Match, and Rolling Stone.
