Jordy Nelson is a former American football wide receiver born on Manhattan, Kansas in May 31, 1985. Nelson played football in high school at Riley County High School in Riley, Kansas for the Falcons. He went on to play college football from 2003 to 2007. In 2008 he was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the second round, 36th overall, in the 2008 NFL Draft. He was signed to a rookie contract with the Packers. Nelson became a Super Bowl champion in the 2010 season when the Packers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25 in Super Bowl XLV. In 2011 he was signed to a three-year contract extension for $13.35 million. He signed another contract extension in 2014 for four years for $39 million with $14.2 million guaranteed and a signing bonus of $11.5 million. On March 13, 2018, after 10 seasons, he was released by the Packers. Two days later he signed a two-year contract with the Oakland Raiders, but was released after one season. On March 27, 2019 he announced his retirement after 11 seasons in the NFL. Throughout his NFL career he recorded 613 receptions, 8,587 receiving yards, 72 receiving touchdowns, and 1,436 return yards.
