Jose Feliciano is a Puerto Rican singer, songwriter, and musician born in Lares, Puerto Rico on September 10, 1945. He is best known for his rendition of “Light My Fire” by The Doors and the Christmas single “Feliz Navidad.” Feliciano performed for the first time at nine years old at the Teatro Puerto Rico in The Bronx. He played his first professional paying gig at The Retort in Detroit, Michigan. He was signed by RCA Victor and released his debut studio album in 1965 titled The Voice and Guitar of José Feliciano. He has since released the albums A Bag Full of Soul, La Copa Rota, Sin Luz, Souled, Fireworks, Memphis Menu, Affirmation, Compartments, Me Enamore, I’m Never Gonna Change, Steppin’ Out, Present Tense, Six-String Lady, The Soundtrax of My Life, Djangoisms, As You See Me Now, Americano, On Second Thought, and many more. Feliciano has released over 50 studio albums worldwide. He has also released seven live albums, twelve compilation albums, and four video albums. In 2000 he was inducted into the International Latin Music Hall of Fame and in 2013 he was inducted into the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame.
