José Luis Hernández Urquidy, known as José Urquidy, is a Mexican professional baseball player who plays as a pitcher in Major League Baseball. He was born in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico, on May 1, 1995.
José began his professional baseball career in 2015 when he signed with the Houston Astros, but before his Major League debut, he played for the Greeneville Astros, Tri-City ValleyCats, Quad Cities River Bandits, Lancaster JetHawks, Buies Creek Astros, Corpus Christi Hooks, and Round Rock Express. He debuted for the Houston Astros in 2019, and in 2022, he won the World Series with the Astros playing alongside Jeremy Peña, Justin Verlander, Luis García, and Framber Valdez.
