Josef Martinez Bio
Josef Alexander Martínez Mencia is a Venezuelan professional soccer player who plays as a striker for North and South America’s top leagues. He was born in Valencia, Carabobo, Venezuela, on May 19, 1993. Josef spent his formative years playing for the youth team at Caracas, and he turned professional in 2010 when he signed with Caracas’ senior team. He has since represented the Young Boys, Thun, Torino, and Atlanta United, and throughout his time with Atlanta United, Josef played alongside Thiago Almada, Luiz Araujo, Osvaldo Alonso, Dom Dwyer, and Brad Guzan. Josef has been a regular on the Venezuelan national men’s squad since his debut in 2011. His career highlights include MLS Cup, MLS Best XI, MLS Most Valuable Player, MLS All-Star Game MVP, and MLS Cup MVP.
