Josh Heupel is an American football coach and former player born on 22nd March 1978 in Aberdeen, South Dakota, United States. He attended Central High School, where he was named North Dakota State Player of the Year. He later played college football for Weber State in 1997. After one year, he switched to Snow College in Utah. He started his professional career with the Dolphins after being selected in the 2001 NFL draft.
He also played for the Green Bay Packers in the NFL and later returned to Oklahoma as a graduate assistant coach. In 2005, he was named the tight-end coach at Arizona. He later returned to his alma mater as a coach between 2006 and 2010 and later moved to the offensive coordinator position, where he spent four seasons. From there, he moved to Utah State to take up a similar role. In 2017, he became the head coach of the University of Central Florida.
