Joywave Bio
Hailing from Rochester, NY, is the five-piece band known as Joywave. The quintet is comprised of Daniel Armbruster on vocals; Sean Donnelly on bass; Travis Johansen on keys, percussion, and guitar; Paul Brenner on drums; and Joseph Morinelli on guitar. The group debuted their first single in early 2011, entitled “Golden State”, which they released through their website. Two months later, they released their mixtape 7777, which featured a very successful single “Ridge”. Later, in 2012, the band released an album entitled Koda Vista, which featured seven songs in total and spoke about how environment can affect one’s personal experience.
Joywave followed up their 2011 mixtape with 8888 a second mixtape that featured the very popular singles “Tongues” and “In Clover”. They released the four-song album How Do You Feel? in 2014. Their sound and style is lauded for the seamlessness between hip-hop, electronica, and pop transitions between the songs of the album.
