Julianne Moore Bio

Actress Julianne Moore, born Julie Anne Smith on December 3rd 1960 in North Carolina, studied acting at Boston University. Moore landed her first major role in the soap As the World Turns, which she won a Daytime Emmy for. Julianne gained attention for her role in The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, and picked up roles in Body of Evidence and The Fugitive. After appearing in a variety of projects, Moore landed a role in the blockbuster The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and went on to pick up an Academy Award nomination for her performance in Boogie Nights. Julianne continued dazzling audiences in many roles including The Big Lebowski, Psycho, Hannibal, The Kids Are All Right, Game Change, and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 and Part 2. The elite actress picked up Oscar nominations for her roles in The End of the Affair, The Hours and Far from Heaven. Later in her career, the actress won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe and a BAFTA for her performance in Still Alice.
