Justin Houston is an American professional football player born in Statesboro, Georgia on January 21, 1989. He is currently a defensive end for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League. Houston played football in high school at Statesboro High School in Statesboro, Georgia. He played in three State Championships in 2003, 2004, and 2005. His school won the State Championship in 2005. Houston went on to play college football at the University of Georgia from 2008 to 2010. In 2011 he was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the third round, 70th overall, in the 2011 NFL Draft. He was signed to a four-year contract for $2.78 million with a signing bonus of $1.04 million. He made his regular season NFL debut in the Chiefs season opener against the Buffalo Bills. In 2015 the Chiefs placed a non-executive franchise tag on Houston worth $13.195 million. He was signed to a six-year contract in 2015 for $101 million with $52.5 million guaranteed. Houston was released from the Chiefs in 2019 after eight seasons with the team. Later that year he was signed to a two-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts for $24 million. Throughout his NFL career he has recorded 382 tackles, 98.5 sacks, 4 interceptions, 14 forced fumbles, 5 fumble recoveries, and 2 defensive touchdowns.
