Born on June 16, 1980, Justin Frew TRANTER is an American musician, songwriter, and activist. He studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he created a scholarship fund for LGBT youth education, called Musicians With a Mission. He was the singer of Semi-Precious Weapons, a rock band in New York. As a songwriter, he composed for Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, Linkin Park, Kelly Clarkson, Selena Gomez, and Justin Bieber among many more. He won the Outmusic Award for the song “Blend In” in 2003, which was co-written with Stephanie Delk, from his first album, Scratched. He moved to Los Angeles in 2012 and signed with Warner/Chappell Music to write songs for other artists. He was nominated as one of Rolling Stone’s “20 Biggest Breakouts of 2015” for his contribution in December 2015. He also co-wrote songs for artists like Gwen Stefani. In 2018, he worked on Heal Me, the soundtrack of A Star is Born with Lady Gaga.
