Justine Bateman is a writer, director, producer, and actress, born on February 19, 1966, in Rye, New York. She is known for her directorial feature film debut of her own script, Violet from 2021, which stars Olivia Munn, Luke Bracey, and Justin Theroux. The film premiered at SXSW and The Toronto Film Festival in 2021 and received critical acclaim. Justine is also a best-selling author of two books. She graduated Computer Science and Digital Media Management from UCLA and is an advocate for Net Neutrality. She is also a former actress and is best known as Mallory Keaton on the television show Family Ties with Michael J. Fox, for which she earned a Golden Globe nomination and two Emmy nominations. The New York native has also appeared in the 1988 film Satisfaction and the 2006 Arrested Development. She is the older sister of actor Jason Bateman.
