K.I.Z is a German hip-hop group formed in Berlin, Germany. The acronyms has been rumoured to mean either Kannibalen in Zivil (plaincloths cannibals), Künstler im Zuchthaus (artists in the penitentiary), or Kriegsverbrecher in Zwangsjacken (warcriminals in straight jackets).
The founding members of the group were the three rappers Tarek, Nico and Maxim. By 2018 the group grew adding two more team members: DJ Craft and Craft.
The band released their debut album Das Rap Deutschland Kettensägen Massaker in 2005. It was released through Royalbunker record label. They followed up with the mixtape Böhse Enkelz the next year, setting the stage for their second official album. The sophomore Hahnenkampf (Cockfight) appeared in 2007 and hit the Top Ten German album chart. The success won them lots of tours and publicity.
Sexismus gegen Rechts, their fourth full-length effort appeared in 2009 also entering the Top Ten German pop charts. Their fifth album Urlaub fürs Gehim was released two years later in 2011.
