KJ Apa is a New Zealand actor with Samoan heritage. His career began in 2013 with a role as Kane Jenkins in the New Zealand soap opera Shortland Street, a television show in which he acted alongside Robbie Magasiva and Vinnie Kruse-Miller.
With a film credit for his role in the film A Dog’s Purpose, he was cast as Archie Andrews in the CS drama Riverdale, a show that is an adaptation of the long running Archie Comics. He works on the show alongside Camila Mendes, Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse. He has so far been nominated for four awards including a Teen Choice Award and won a Saturn Award for his Breakthrough Performance for his portrayal of Archie in Riverdale.
