Kari Skogland is a filmmaker from Canada. She is widely known for writing, directing, and producing many films and television shows. She started her career as a film editor before moving to directing, where she worked on several music videos and TV commercials. She made her television debut as a director in an episode of the drama television series “Dead 21” and “Traders”. She would later direct the film “The Size of Watermelon”, which won the Silver Award.
In 2008, she directed the crime thriller film “50 Dead Men Walking”, which featured Jim Sturgess, Ross McGowan, and Sir Ben Kingsley. She went on to direct a few episodes in the television series “The Borgias”, “Boardwalk Empire”, and “Sons of Liberty”. She also directed a couple of episodes, in 2018 and 2019, of the Bruce Miller-created television series “The Handmaid’s Tale”. In 2021, she directed “Cleopatra”, which starred Gal Gadot.
