Kasey Chambers was born in Mount Gambier, South Australia on June 4, 1976. She released her first album, The Captain, in 1999. She released a follow-up album Barricades & Brickwalls in 2001 and the track “Not Pretty Enough ” topped the Australian charts and made it to the Billboard Top 50. She was named Female Country Performer of the Year by Mo Awards in 2000 and 2002.
She also released the albums Wayward Angel (2004) and Carnival (2006). She formed a duo with Shane Nicholson in 2008, and they released Rattlin’ Bones.
Her album Rattlin’ Bones bagged the Album of the Year and Highest Selling Album of the year from CMAA Awards. The title track from the album also won Single of the Year, APRA Song of the Year, and Video Clip of the year. In 2009, she released Kasey Chambers, Poppa Bill, and the Little Hillbillies.
In 2011, she released Little Bird which also won the Best Country Album. This was followed with Wreck & Ruin another collaboration with Nicholson and two solo albums in 2014 and 2017, Bittersweet and Dragonfly.
