Katharine McPhee was born in Los Angeles, California on March 24, 1984. She was the runner-up in American Idol Season 5.
In 2007, she released her self-titled debut album which peaked at No. 2 of the Billboard 200. The first single in the album, Over It, also peaked at No, 29 of the Hot 100. She also released Unbroken (2010), Christmas Is The Time to Say I Love You (2010), Hysteria (2015), and I Fall In Love Too Easily (2017).
She also appeared in the TV series Smash in 2012 and the TV movie The Lost Wife of Robert Durst in 2017. She won the Best Actress in a Drama Series by the Women’s Image Network Awards in 2012 for her role in Smash. In 2014, she took over the main role in the series Scorpion.
