Kathy Valentine is a songwriter and musician born on 7th January 1956 in Austin, Texas, United States. She is widely recognized for being a bassist for the American rock band Go-Go’s. She started playing the guitar in 9th grade. At the age of 19, she relocated to Los Angeles, where she co-founded a band called Textones. The band released two singles. She left the band in 1980. She later joined The Go-Go’s as a bass player.
With The Go-Go’s, she released the albums “Beauty and the Beat” in 1981, “Vacation” in 1982, “Talk Show” in 1984 and “God Bless the Go-Go’” in 2001. The band was disbanded in 1985, reunited in 1990, and split again soon after. In 1992, she co-founded another band called BlueBonnets. In 2005, she released her solo album, titled “Light Years (All For One)”.
