Kavita Seth (born 14 September 1970, in Bareilly, Uttar Prudesh, India) is an acclaimed playback singer, most renowned for her contribution to Hindi cinema. She is also known as a performer of Ghazals and a Sufi singer who leads the Sufi musical group, Karwaan Group.
In 2010, Kavita won the Filmfare Award and the Star Screen Award for Best Female Playback Singer in 2010 for her classical Sufi rendition "Gunja Sa Koi Iktara" for the film Wake Up Sid (2009). Besides Sufi music, Kavita also sings geet, ghazal and folk songs. Over the years she has performed at several live shows across India and other countries.
Besides singing, Kavita also composes music. She has composed three songs in N. Chandra's 2009 film "Yeh Mera India". She has also released private albums, including two Sufi ghazal albums, Woh Ek Lamha, Dil-e-Nadan, followed by Sufi music albums, Sufiana (2008) and Hazrat. In 2020, Kavita composed the soundtrack of the BBC TV series A Suitable Boy and also provided the vocals to the songs of Tabu's character in the show.
