Keith Thurman was born in Clearwater, Florida on November 23, 1988. He is known for his fighter name “One Time.” He had more than 100 victories as an amateur fighter. He won six national championships as an amateur and bagged a silver medal at the Olympic Trials.
He made his professional debut in 2007 in a fight against Kensky Rodney. In 2012, he won the WBO NABO Super Welterweight Title by TKO against Carlos Quintana. The next year, he won the WBO Inter-Continental Welterweight title by unanimous decision and stripped Diego Gabriel Chaves of the interim WBA World Welterweight title. He retained the WBA World Welterweight title against Robert Guerrero in 2015 by unanimous decision. In 2017, he went against Danny Garcia and retained the WBA Super World Welterweight title. In the same fight, he won the WBC World Welterweight title.
