Kelly Marie Tran is an American actress of Vietnamese origin. She was born Trần Loan on the 17th of January, 1989, in San Diego, California, U.S. She started her acting career by playing small roles in television and playing in CollegeHumor videos. In 2013 she starred in the web-series “Ladies Like Us”. She also performed in the live action series “Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street” as Sara, and in 2014 she portrayed Marguerite in the sitcom “About a Boy”. In 2015 she acted alongside Adam Conover in the educational comedy series “Adam Ruins Everything”. In 2015, she got her breakthrough when she was cast in “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” as Rose Tico, a rebel mechanic. In 2017 she became the first Asian-American woman to be portrayed in the cover of Vanity Fair.
