Kevin Olusola was born on October 5, 1988 in Owensboro, Kentucky. He is the beatboxer for the group Pentatonix, which won the show The Sing-Off in 2011, later releasing five albums. All five albums made it into the top 5 of the Billboard 200 and sold over 2 million copies. Olusola got his start playing piano when he was 4 years old. He began cello lesson at 6 and alto saxophone at age 10. At the age of 12, he was selected as the principal saxophonist of the United States Collegiate Wind Band and was able to tour Europe. Olusola was also selected as the principal cellist of the Kentucky State Youth Orchestra, earning the highest honor at the Kentucky Governor’s SChoo. After winning the American Fine Arts Festival, he was featured on the show From the Top.
After joining Pentatonix, Olusola began co-writing songs, including The Little Drummer Boy. His solo album, The Renegade EP, hit No. 1 on the Billboard Classical Albums Chart. Pentatonix won Grammys in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
