Keyshia M. Cole (October 15, 1981) is an American singer-songwriter, actress, producer and TV personality. A native to Oakland, California, Keyshia Cole kicked off her career when she collaborated with MC Hammer when she was 12 as well as with the late Tupac Shakur. She moved to Los Angeles when she was 18 as a young singer and later signed with A&M Records. Her debut album, ‘The Way It Is’ was released in 2004 with her single, ‘I Changed My Mind’ featuring Kanye West. The album sold 10 million copies in the US alone. Known for her sultry soprano vocals, Keyshia released her second album, ‘Just Like You’ in 2007 featuring popular hip-hop artists such as Diddy and R. Kelly. The album reached the number 2 spot that year on the Billboard 200 and was Grammy nominated for Best R&B Contemporary Album alongside one of the album’s singles ‘Let It Go’ nominated for Best Rap/Sung Collection. In the following year, Keyshia Cole’s single ‘Heaven Sent’, also off the ‘Just Like You’, received two Grammy nominations for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B Song. In 2008, she released her third album, ‘A Different Me’ which also debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 followed by her fourth, ‘Calling All Hearts’ in 2010 which peaked at number 9 on the Billboard 200. Keyshia’s love for music led her to releasing a fifth album, ‘Woman to Woman’ in 2012 followed by a sixth album, ‘Point of No Return’ in 2014. Her latest body of work was released in 2017 titled ‘11:11’. Since her last release, the 38 year old has been featured on the albums of popular R&B and hip-hop artists such as DJ Khaled and Gucci Mane.
