Kia Augustine Nurse (born February 22, 1996 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada) is a guard in the WNBA who has played for the New York Liberty, Phoenix Mercury, and the Seattle Storm.
She played college basketball at Connecticut. She graduated from St. Thomas More Catholic Secondary School where she won gold at the AAAA OFSAA Championship with the team in 2012 and 2013. She also won two National Championships for team Ontario and two Player of the Year honors for the Ontario Basketball team. In 2015, Kia was named American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year while playing at the University of Connecticut.
In the 2018 WNBA Draft, Kia was drafted 10th overall to Liberty. She made her WNBA debut on May 20, 2018, scoring 17 points against the Chicago Sky. In 2019, Kia was voted to be a starter in the 2019 WNBA All-Star game. This selection made her the third Canadian to play in the All-Star Game. She was also selected to participate in the WNBA All-Star 3-Point Contest. In 2020, Nurse joined TSN as a regular basketball analyst. She maintains the position when she is not playing in the WNBA or for Team Canada.
