KiKi Layne Bio

Kiki Layne, born Kindra Layne, is an American actress who was born on December 10, 1991, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was trained in acting at The Theatre School at DePaul University where she earned a BFA in 2014. Her first professional acting performance was starring in the short film “Veracity” in 2015. In 2016 she appeared on an episode of “Chicago Med” and participated in the TV movie “Untitled Lena Waithe Project”. She jumped to fame in 2018 when she starred in the Barry Jenkins movie “If Beale Street Could Talk” alongside Stephan James and Regina King. For this role, she received multiple nominations and won a Women Film Critics Circle Award, Philadelphia Film Critics Circle Award, and a Black Reel Award. In 2019 she appeared in the movies “Native Son” and “Captive State”, and in 2020 she starred in the Netflix movie “The Old Guard” alongside Charlize Theron and Matthias Schoenaerts.
