King Crimson is a group formed by Mel Collins, Robert Fripp, Gavin Harrison, Jakko Jakszyk, Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto, Bill Rieflin, and Jeremy Stacey. The band has been active from 1969 to present although they took breaks in between. King Crimson debuted in Hyde Park in London with the Rolling Stones in July 1969, and they released their debut album In the Court of the Crimson King in the same year. The song made it to No. 5 in England’s charts and at No. 28 in the US charts. The group recorded their sophomore album in 1970 and released In the Wake of Poseidon, this was followed by the albums Lizard and Islands. Despite various changes in its core members the band released the albums Lark’s Tongues in Aspic, Starless and Bible Black, Red, Discipline, Beat, Three of a Perfect Pair, THRAK, and The Construkction of Light. The group’s latest album is The Power to Believe.
