King Woman Bio
The Rock band King Woman started out as a solo project by Kristina Esfandiari. It became a full-fledged band in 2017 with the release of Created in the Image of Suffering. The band members are Joey Raygoza as the drummer, Peter Arensdorf as the bassist, and Colin Gallagher’s guitarist. P and of course Kristina Esfandiari as the lead vocalist. Over the years they have crafted their own sound, one that harnesses the elastic textures and temporality of drone and metallic shoegaze alongside the transcendental, melancholic power of doom. The band has attracted the attention of the independent label Relapse Record who signed them in 2016. King Woman is back in 2021 with Celestial Blues which evoked the themes of trauma and religion which has been inspired by the lead vocalist's childhood with charismatic Christian parents.
