London-born actress and writer Kirby Howell-Baptiste, now based in Los Angeles, California, is best known for her role as Elena Felton in Killing Eve. Kirby first began acting at age 12, enrolling in classes at the Young Actors Theatre, then called the Anna Scher Theatre. Her love of acting led to further studies in drama, at both East 15 Acting School and then at Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in Los Angeles.
Her appearances on IFC’s Comedy Bang! Bang! kick-started her career in Los Angeles, after which she went on to star beside Kristen Bell in House of Lies. Kirby has since appeared in films such as A Dog’s Purpose (2017), It’s a Party (2018) and Silent Night (2020). Her television appearances include The Powerpuff Girls (2016-2017) and The Good Place (2018-2020) where she plays the deranged Simone.
