Koffee Bio

Artist Koffee, born Mikayla Simpson on February 16th 2000 in Spanish Town, Jamaica, got her artistic name after ordering a coffee on a boiling hot day. Her musical life started at church choir, and she went on to teach herself guitar. The talented artist accidentally auditioned for her school talent show, and won. From there she gained popularity singing on Instagram, and released the single, Legend. Koffee gained traction jumping on Upsetta Records’ Ouji Riddim, with her song, Burning, and was invited on stage to perform with Coco Tea. She was also asked by her idol Protoje to perform with him. Chronixx also invited Koffee to join him on Seani B and Mistajam’s 1Xtra shows broadcast from Big Yard studios. Koffee was signed with Columbia Records UK and released her debut extended play, Rapture. Koffee’s songs Raggamuffin and Toast lit up the airwaves. She then scored a spot in Harry Styles Love on Tour as the opening act for the American leg. Koffee released a collaborative single with hip-hop artist Gunna, titled W, and went on to win a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album for Rapture. She was the youngest artist and first female to win the award.
