Kolohe Andino is a professional American surfer from San Clemente, California, born March 22, 1994. He comes from a surfer father, Dino Andino, who was a World Tour competitor and won a national championship in the '90s. Kolohe received training from his father and achieved impressive results by the age of eighteen, winning nine NSSA titles, and qualifying for the Championship Tour. Kolohe's amazing early success earned him lucrative deals with Nike, as he became one of the best-paid rookie surfers ever. In 2019, Kolohe became the first U.S. surfer to qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympics by achieving being in the top 2 American surfers at the 2019 World Surf League, and the top 10 surfers in the competition. At the Olympics, he reached the quarter-final stage, where he was eliminated by a Japanese surfer, Kanoa Igarashi. Kolohe Andino's surfing style can best be described as both agile and strong. His name Kolohe means "little rascal" in Hawaiian, which suits his surfing style and temperament from his early surfing days to his present career.
