Kris Delmhorst is an American singer and songwriter who was born in Brooklyn, New York. Earlier in her career, she learned how to play the classical cello, a skill she took advantage of to work with jazz bands and folk singers in her area. After gaining experience in performing, she released a demo, which was titled “Swim for It”. Delmhorst’s debut album didn’t arrive until 1998, titled “Appetite”. In 2001, she released “Five Stories”, which was followed by “Songs for a Hurricane” in 2003 and “Strange Conversation” in 2006. She also released “Shotgun Singer” in 2008, “Cars” in 2011, and “Blood Test” in 2014. In 2016, she released an EP titled “The Waking”. In 2017, she released her seventh album, “The Wild”, and an EP titled “The Wild – Outtakes”. In 2020, she released her eighth record, titled “Long Day in the Milky Way”.
