Kristian Mercado Bio
Kristian Mercado is an award-winning filmmaker from Puerto Rico. His interest in arts started when he was young, often using film as a way to escape every day’s stress. His animated short film “Nuevo Rico” made its debut at the 2021 SXSW Festival. The film won the Animation Jury Award, and he’s currently working on it to make it a full-length film. Mercado also directed the Angle Bourassa-written feature film “If You Were the Last”.
Mercado has also directed video content for Spotify, De La Soul, Planned Parenthood, Eric Andre, Alienware, Topo Chico, Gatorade, Ault Swim, Bad Bunny, and many others. Besides directing films, Mercado has also made a name for himself in the comedy scene, having directed specials by Taylor Tomlinson, Sam Jay, Aida Rodriguez, Ilana Glazer, Phoebe Robinson, Michael Che, and many others.
