Kurt Carr is an American singer, songwriter, and church minister who performs Gospel music. He was born in Hartford, Connecticut, United States, on October 12, 1964. Kurt studied classical music at the University of Connecticut and performed theatre with the Hartford Stage Company in his early 20s, but he began to focus on his music career in the late 1980s. He released his debut I'm Glad in 1988. His discography includes the hit singles God Blocked It, In the Sanctuary, Bless Somebody Else, God Great God, and the albums The Kurt Carr Project: One Church, Bless Somebody Else, and Serious About It. Kurt received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Stellar Awards. His music was featured in the album Risen Powerful Gospel Resurrection Songs alongside Hezekiah Walker, Marvin Sapp, Crystal Lewis, Fred Hammond, and Kirk Franklin.
