Kurt Russell Bio
Kurt Russell was born on March 17, 1951 in Springfield, Massachusetts. Russell’s film debut came in Elvis Presley’s film It Happened at the World’s Fair (1963). From there, he had a couple more small roles before he was taken under the wing of Walt Disney where over the next ten years he appeared in nine live action films including Follow Me Boys (1966).
In the 1980’s his profile and earnings skyrocketed after appearing in a series of classic films like Escape from New York (1981), Silkwood (1983) and The Mean Season (1985). Silkwood got him nominated for a Golden Globe award and his newfound success meant he could afford to be choosier in the roles he was offered. He has worked steadily ever since, starring in Vanilla Sky (2001), Poseidon (2006) and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (2017). In 2017, he was inducted onto the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his services to acting. He and his long-time girlfriend, fellow actress Goldie Hawn, are well known for being a couple who has been together for decades yet never married.
