Kurtis Eugene Warner, known simply as Kurt Warner, is an American football player who was born on June 22, 1971, in Burlington, Iowa. In college, he was forced to attend the University of Northern Iowa after failing to qualify for a Division I-A college. In 1994, he decided to try his luck in getting into NFL’s Green Bay Packers, but once again, he was unsuccessful. In 1995, he started playing for the Iowa Barnstormers, and by 1997, he signed with St. Louis Rams. He was then sent to play for the Amsterdam Admirals. 1998 marked his return to the United States, after the Rams decided to make him play for the team. He was a backup player at first, but after the team’s starting quarterback got injured, he was asked to step in. Because of him, Rams chalked up the second greatest single-season win improvement in the league’s history, and in that year, they won their first ever Super Bowl title. In 2005, he signed with the Arizona Cardinals and in 2008, led them to an impressively close match against the Pittsburgh Steelers for the Super Bowl title. Warner was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017.
